Wyndham Park Tool Library

The Wyndham Park Tool Library is a community-led initiative based at the Wyndham Park Community Shed. Supported by Wyndham City Council and Sustainability Victoria, the Tool Library gives local residents access to a wide range of tools through a simple annual membership.

“Why buy when you can borrow?”

Many tools are only used once or twice for a project before sitting unused in a shed or garage. By sharing tools through a community library, members can complete home projects, repairs, and creative ideas without the cost of purchasing tools they may rarely use. Sustaining tools as a resource in this way reduces the amount of waste going to landfill, contributing to a circular economy.

Tools and Equipment

Members can borrow a wide range of items, including:

  • DIY and construction equipment

  • Garden tools

  • Woodworking and carpentry tools

  • Artist and creative tools

  • Camping and outdoor gear

With a largely established and ever-growing inventory of equipment to choose from, you’ll be sure to get the right tool for the job.

A Community Resource

Many tools in the collection have been generously donated by community members, helping reduce waste while making practical resources available to more people. Beyond borrowing tools, the Tool Library is also about sharing skills, knowledge and community. Members and volunteers often exchange advice and ideas on projects, repairs or builds.

Like many activities at the Community Shed, the Tool Library helps bring people together. Creating opportunities for people to collaborate and share resources, the Tool Library supports a stronger, more connected community while helping reduce social isolation.
