Mosaics at Wyndham Park Community Shed
A Relaxed and Creative Space
The Mosaics group meets every Wednesday morning from 9:30am to 12:30pm at the back of the Community Shed. Open to all Shed members, the group has grown into a small but welcoming regular gathering, with participants of mixed ages and experience levels. Many members are beginners, and the sessions provide a comfortable space to try something new in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Mosaic sessions are informal and self-guided, with participants working on their own mosaic pieces at their own pace. A variety of recycled and donated materials are used, including surplus tiles from renovation projects, along with smaller pre-cut pieces and tools for shaping materials as needed. More experienced members are always nearby to offer advice, ensuring participants don’t have to figure things out alone.
Connection Through Creativity
The Mosaics group is known for its friendly and social atmosphere. Music often plays in the background as members chat, share ideas, and enjoy the creative process together. It is as much about connection as it is about the artwork itself.
For many, the group provides a regular opportunity to get out of the house, meet new people and build friendships. The relaxed pace and shared creativity create a space where people can feel at ease, have fun, and support their mental wellbeing through social connection.
