Wyndham Park Community Centre Inc. manages and operates Wyndham Park Community Shed and Wyndham Park Community Centre. Together, these places serve as inclusive hubs where everyone belongs, offering opportunities to build social connections, receive support, and take part in community activities. Both the Shed and Centre reflect the diverse community they serve, and exist to support, celebrate, and empower local people in meaningful and practical ways.
At its core, Wyndham Park Community Centre Inc. is committed to enhancing mental wellbeing and fostering social connection in its local community. We achieve this by creating places and spaces where like-minded people can come together to work on projects, share resources and lived experiences, and access essential support in a dignified manner. These places create a safe and welcoming environment for people to connect with others, while also providing an informal setting to support mental health and wellbeing.
Vision and Mission
Wyndham Park Community Shed provides a wide range of activities to offer many ways for people to join in, connect with others, and feel a sense of belonging. The Community Shed operates by the AMSA motto, “Men don’t talk face to face, they talk shoulder to shoulder”. Guided by the philosophy of “health by stealth” the Community Shed supports wellbeing through shared projects and conversation, recognising that connection and conversation often happen most naturally when people work shoulder to shoulder. Wyndham Park Community Centre Inc. applies this approach to our whole community, welcoming people of all ages, genders and backgrounds to make meaningful connections with others. Other services which we offer include our Food Relief program and Tool Library.
The Food Relief program gives people access to fresh produce and staple pantry items at an affordable price. It also provides a place and time each week for people to feel connected with others and share friendly conversations with faces old and new, helping to reduce feelings of isolation.
Wyndham Park Tool Library serves as Wyndham’s first and only Tool Library. This program’s motto “Why buy when you can borrow” encourages a circular economy, reducing waste and providing affordable access to tools when needed. The Tool Library also provides valuable volunteering opportunities, allowing people to meet and work with a team of like-minded individuals to contribute to their community.
The Community Centre offers rooms available for hire by community groups to run programs and activities. This service provides welcoming spaces for groups to deliver important initiatives that support connection and participation within the community. Head to our Room Hire page to learn more.
